Kiryowa Kiwanuka

Kiryowa Kiwanuka is currently on a sabbatical from the firm as he serves as the Attorney General of Uganda.

Kiryowa Kiwanuka, commonly referred to as “KK”, is one of the founding partners of the firm.

With a professional legal career spanning over 20 years, KK is widely acknowledged as one of the region’s leading litigation lawyers. He has led the firm in successfully representing some of the most complex and high-value commercial disputes in the region. His core areas of practice include commercial and civil litigation, banking and finance, insolvency, arbitration and energy law.

KK is a qualified insolvency practitioner and has also distinguished himself as an energy practitioner. He has served on the Board of Directors of several entities including the Petroleum Authority of Uganda and the Makerere University Council.

In June 2021, KK was appointed as the Attorney General of the Republic of Uganda.

Outside the firm, KK is an ardent golfer and a football fan. He has served in various capacities in golf administration at the club level and at national level as President of Uganda Golf Union leading the national team in many coveted regional championship wins. KK also served as Chairman of Express Football Club, a Ugandan super league football team and the current Uganda Premier League champions.
