Cara Kyasimiire is an Associate in the firm's Transactions & Advisory department whose practice spans Corporate & Commercial Law and Energy & Infrastructure Law. She holds an LLM in Energy and Environmental Law from the University of Birmingham. Since joining K&K, she has become a dedicated and valued member of the Transactions team, advising on complex financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and infrastructure projects across the region.
Cara has built substantial experience across Uganda's energy, extractives, and infrastructure sectors. Her work includes advising on public-private partnership (PPP) arrangements, concession agreements, and infrastructure project development, with particular focus on oil and gas, mining, and carbon projects. She has acted as legal counsel on several high-value matters involving the structuring, negotiation, and execution of infrastructure project agreements, mineral production sharing arrangements, and joint operating agreements for the exploration, development, production, and processing of minerals and hydrocarbons in Uganda.
Her experience also extends to carbon credit frameworks and climate finance instruments, including the development of carbon projects within selected ecosystem types in Uganda.
Cara's transactional experience encompasses cross-border M&A mandates involving due diligence, transaction documentation, and contract management. She has advised on the acquisition of businesses and assets across the agribusiness, manufacturing, and financial services sectors, and has supported domestic and international clients through complex regulatory approvals and multi-party negotiations.
