Joel Yoweri Munaawa is a Junior Associate at K&K Advocates. He joined the firm following the completion of his postgraduate clerkship - also undertaken at K&K - and is an active member of both the Litigation and Transactions teams.
Since joining the firm, Joel has represented multinational corporations, financial institutions, and government entities in significant litigation across a range of contentious matters. His practice covers land ownership and fraud disputes before the High Court and superior appellate courts, judicial review proceedings, and banking and finance disputes including debt recovery for a range of financial institutions. He also has experience in domestic arbitration, having handled matters before ICAMEK and CADER.
On the transactional and advisory side, Joel's experience includes corporate due diligence, contract drafting and management, the review of commercial and operational agreements, and advice on compliance and corporate governance. He also supports clients with the establishment of companies, non-governmental organisations, and charities, ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Outside the firm, Joel is a football fan.
