Emmanuel Okia is a Junior Associate at K&K Advocates and a member of the firm's Litigation and Transactions teams. He joined the firm in 2023 following an outstanding performance at the bar exam, where he was awarded the Chief Justice Prize as the best overall student.
Emmanuel has built a focused practice in commercial litigation, arbitration, tax advisory, banking and finance, and property disputes. His arbitration practice is a particular strength: his experience spans both institutional and ad hoc proceedings, with specific experience in obtaining interim relief prior to the commencement of arbitration and applications to set aside arbitral awards - two technically demanding areas in which he has developed a clear edge.
Emmanuel's tax practice covers transfer pricing disputes, duty remission challenges, and VAT refund claims. On the transactions side, he has handled debt recoveries, loan documentation, security enforcement, and the review of facility and security agreements for financial institutions and corporate borrowers. He advises on the regulatory and compliance dimensions of banking relationships and supports clients through the documentation and structuring of commercial finance arrangements.
